Mount Washington is Vancouver Island’s Year-Round Alpine Destination.
Located just 30 minutes from the Comox Valley on Vancouver Island, Mount Washington serves up some of the most spectacular scenery Vancouver Island has to offer.
The Rick Gibson Group knows the Mount Washington Real Estate market better than anyone else. They have owned property on the mountain since 1980 and in the last 35 years, Rick Gibson has sold the majority of all properties on the mountain.
From the summit gaze across the expanse of the Pacific Ocean’s Georgia Strait and British Columbia’s coastal mountain range. Vancouver Island’s Mountain Ranges and Strathcona Provincial Park make a spectacular backdrop for this high alpine destination.
Enjoy downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding (winter and spring) and mountain biking, hiking, and exploring Strathcona Park (summer and fall). With a wide variety of accommodations to choose from and year-round festivals to enjoy consider Mount Washington for your next getaway or event, any time of year.
With an average of 11 metres of annual snowfall the resort typically has the deepest ski resort snow depths in Canada, and at times, North America. Winters on Mount Washington give Vancouver Islanders the opportunity to rise above the seasonally low cloud cover and enjoy brilliant sunshine in a winter wonderland.

SUMMER ACTIVITIES
Fun on the mountain doesn’t end once the snow has melted. Mount Washington is the gateway and trailhead into the vast wilderness of B.C.’s largest provincial park, Strathcona Provincial Park. Whether you want to enjoy a 2-hour hike in the alpine or head out for a multi-day trek it’s all here. The day hike up to Lake Helen MacKenzie returning along Battleship is a very popular way to enjoy a day in the alpine.
During the summer, make sure to take in a chairlift ride to Mount Washington’s summit. Bring your camera for breathtaking panoramic views of the Comox Glacier, Mt. Albert Edward, the Strait of Georgia, and numerous coastal communities and islands.
Mountain Biking is back at Mount Washington! Summer 2016 saw the opening of a variety of new trails in the Bike Park. Guests can rent mountain bikes at the resort as well.
